Nothing exists in isolation.
The variable relationships that occur between humans and nature form the basis of my multidisciplinary practice. This is approached via a focus on complex and evolving systems and is informed by processes of research and experimentation.
The choice of materials used in the work is highly specific. Environmental elements are juxtaposed with infrastructures and objects, particularly those used in our attempts to subvert or control natural systems. This line of investigation doesn’t privilege the human over the natural or vice versa, but recognises their mutual and dependent existence at a time when such binaries no longer exist. The work produced utilises both natural and constructed elements in symbiotic processes that acknowledge the porous and promiscuous impact of one on the other to highlight inherent connections, circulations and co-dependencies.
